The Mara The Mara Autonomouse District lies in the loop of the Kolodyne river between the latitude 21'.50' and 20degree.35' North and between the longtitude 92degree 55' and 93degree 35' East.Situated in the southern part of the Mizoram, it covers an area of about 1445 square kilometres.It is flanked on the north and east by the Lai Autonomous District of Mizoram and on the east and the south by the Chin State of Myanmar.Geographically,the Mara Autonomous District is isolated from the rest of India both its distance and forbidding nature of hills terrain.Steep hill ranges running in different directions pludge the features. Mr.J.Vialua is the best singer of the present century among the Maras in the Mara District of south Mizoram, North Eastern India. He is now running 52 years old. He is brought up from good family, having three brothers Mr. J.H.Chawhmo, Mr. J.H.Beisai and Mr.J.H.Matha, and two sisters Mrs. J.Khaidei and Mrs.Biapaw. He married very beautiful woman Mrs.K.Sari, sister of Dr.K.Rakhu, MBBS, his present post at Tuipang Hospital. Tuipang,local name Tipa, is the sub-headquarters of the Mara District. During the British period, the British officials tried to make a project at Tipa river (Haosaino), by digging some areas, but they left the said place before the completion of the work.
